Tyne Valley Plastics Achieves ISO9001:2015 Certification

Tyne Valley Plastics, a leading supplier of custom moulded plastic products, is pleased to announce a successful stage 2 assessment for ISO 9001:2015 accreditation from Lloyd’s Register LRQA.

The privately owned company based in Prudhoe, Northumberland, are one of the first plastic injection moulding companies to be certified to the latest 2015 standard.

At Tyne Valley Plastics the accreditation is seen as further evidence of the continued commitment to providing our customers with a first-class service, as well as an investment for the future which, it is anticipated, will open up new markets not previously available to the company.

It has been an interesting 12 months for TVP as the previous Winter we were suffering from the after effects of storm Desmond, which flooded the factory in December 2015. The factory was so severely affected that all but one machine was out of action. This meant production had to be sub-contracted to ensure no customers were let down whilst reparations were made to get the factory back up and running.

The company bounced back from this major set-back, managed to restore full production 3 months after the flood and has since invested in new equipment, expanded the workforce and increased our customer base.

This all happening at the same time as the required work to design and implement the new quality procedures to meet the latest ISO standard.

Gill Rice, MD of Tyne Valley Plastics, commented:

“We are delighted that the business has achieved ISO 9001:2015 stage 2 certification and are proud of our efforts over the last 12 months to bounce back from the horrible situation of being flooded.

Getting back to where we are today reflects the efforts of our staff, our commitment to quality work and processes, and most of all, our commitment to our customers. We see ISO 9001:2015 as a major investment in the future of the business”.
