AKROTEK® PK: A New Sustainable ETP Compound from AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH

IMCD UK is delighted to introduce AKROTEK® PK, a new high-performance polymer compound that offers excellent mechanical and chemical properties, as well as outstanding sustainability benefits.

AKROTEK® PK is a polyketone-based material that combines the best of both worlds: it is lightweight but tough while also being environmentally friendly. Compared to other polymers, it has a lower carbon footprint thanks to its lower energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions during production.

But AKROTEK® PK is not just a sustainable choice – it also delivers superior performance in a variety of applications:

Low-wear in gear applications

The ideal material for gears that require high precision, low noise, and long service life. Its high strength and wear resistance make it suitable for demanding applications in the automotive, industrial, and many other sectors.

Electronic Vehicle (EV) thermal management & cooling systems

AKROTEK® PK is becoming ever more specified in this area owing to its excellent weld line properties and outstanding chemical, glycol & hydrolysis resistance. Additional attributes are its fast crystallisation and low creep performance, not to mention its outstanding tribological properties.

Flame retardant AKROTEK® PK

Halogen-free, flame-retardant AKROTEK® PK is the material of choice for UL 94 V0-certified applications requiring high elongation at break. The material is also impressive thanks to its very good chemical resistance, especially to calcium and zinc chloride, and is suitable for high-voltage components in e-mobility.

The IMCD team of experts will be happy to talk to you about this or any other materials from their extensive portfolio at Interplas. You can find them in Hall 4, stand D38, September 26th-28th at the NEC, Birmingham.
