ALBIS Gains UK and Ireland Distribution Rights for Röhm’s PLEXIGLAS® and PLEXIMID®

ALBIS gains distribute rights for PLEXIGLAS® and PLEXIMID® in the United Kingdom and Ireland, further strengthening its year-old partnership with Röhm, a leading manufacturer in the methacrylate business.
With new distribution rights for PLEXIGLAS® and PLEXIMID®, ALBIS extends its global distribution to include important markets in Northwestern Europe. Vince Murphy, Managing Director of ALBIS UK, on the recent expansion to the United Kingdom and Ireland: “We appreciate the repeated trust placed in us and look forward to strengthening the brand presence of Röhm’s quality products in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland.”
The partnership of ALBIS and Röhm began exactly one year ago when ALBIS received distribution rights for the PLEXIGLAS® und PLEXIMID® moulding compounds for Turkey and North Africa in February 2024. At the end of last year, ALBIS was granted additional distribution rights for the Baltics and Scandinavia and, as of November, has been the sole distributor for both brands in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. From February 2025 onward, the Hamburg-based company is distributing PLEXIGLAS® und PLEXIMID® in the UK and Ireland.
Röhm’s polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) PLEXIGLAS® represents versatile use, excellent light transmission properties and a particularly long service life. For more than 90 years, it has been one of the most trusted and renowned brands in all industrial sectors that use moulding compounds for their applications.
With PLEXIGLAS® proTerra, a product range based on post-industrial recycled or ISCC PLUS-certified raw materials, Röhm is also responding to the increasing sustainability requirements voiced by different parts of the industry and meeting the growing demand for sustainable high-performance plastics that are resistant to weathering and ageing.
An ISCC PLUS-certified distributor, ALBIS offers PLEXIGLAS® proTerra and the entire PLEXIGLAS® product range as part of its broad portfolio, which also includes PLEXIMID®, a particularly heat-resistant and transparent polymethyl methacrylimide (PMMI) that is predominantly used in demanding optical and E&E applications.
