Boddingtons Returns to Medical Technology Ireland

Taking place at Galway Racecourse from October 20-21, Kent-based injection moulder Boddingtons Plastics is looking forward to networking and doing business at Medical Technology Ireland.

The UK-based supplier of manufacturing services has posted budget-beating double-digit year-on-year growth this year and is investing in further Class 7 cleanroom capability through 2022.

“Boddingtons is delighted to be returning to this prestigious event for the Irish medical industry”, says Boddingtons CEO Andy Tibbs. “We are looking forward to sharing our experiences of the past two years and also to meeting friends old and new.”

Taking place at Galway Racecourse later this month, the Medical Technology Ireland expo and conference will see over 200 suppliers to the industry exhibit alongside an innovative conference programme.

“It has been a challenging two years for event organisers, and we are thrilled to be back in Galway this month running Medical Technology Ireland”, says Show Director Jason Moss. “I would like to say a huge thank you to all the exhibitors who are supporting the show this year. We couldn’t have done it without you!”

Medical device manufacturer Boddingtons Plastics offers Class 7 cleanroom manufacturing to produce Class 1 and Class 2 medical devices. These operations are supported by international quality management systems with full regulatory compliance services on all five continents.

Boddingtons operates a state-of-the-art facility in South East England for the production of injection-moulded components, medical devices and assemblies. All manufacturing is included within the scope of ISO 13485 MDSAP accreditations.

Boddingtons has won the prestigious Plastics Industry Awards a record-breaking four times for its design-for-manufacture expertise. Three of these awards have been for medical devices.

From concept design, tooling, validation and CE marking to medical device registrations, Boddingtons supplies a fully managed programme, helping customers with new product introductions and increasing market share.

Boddingtons has been in high demand in the two years since the last Galway show. The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the company designing and producing ventilator parts, PPE products and other complex components. Mould tool transfers to Boddingtons have also helped customers to boost the quality and cost-effectiveness of their medical projects.

Recent company investments include FANUC, Arburg and ENGEL machinery; a Mitutoyo Quick Vision Active CMM system with Touch Probe and further Class 7 cleanroom expansions.

Since the launch of its new £4.6m manufacturing facility at the end of 2016, Boddingtons has steadily expanded the scope and volume of its med-tech manufacturing services. The company is certified to ISO13485 and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements and is also compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 820.

Andy Tibbs comments, our aim at Boddingtons is to contribute value and service to the buoyant med-tech market in Ireland and to network with the industry there.”

Tibbs adds that “Boddingtons is well on its way to being a world-class supplier of injection moulding competencies to the global medical and healthcare sectorsfrom first concepts to final assembly. Events such as Medical Technology Ireland are vital in helping the sector maintain its ambitions and growth.”

Medical Technology Ireland will showcase leading specialists from all tiers of the medical device manufacturing supply chain, including Accumold, American Preclinical Services and Swanson Erie Corporation from the US; Koch Pac-Systeme GmbH from Germany and Creganna Medical/TE from Galway. New exhibitors joining for the first time include Shannon Coiled Springs, Tekniplex Healthcare, Prodieco and M&M Qualtech.
