The BPF Horners Awards are hosted annually by the Worshipful Company of Horners and the British Plastics Federation (BPF) to promote excellence and innovation in the plastics and polymer industries. Established in 1946, the BPF Horners Award for Plastics Innovation and Design is believed to be the longest-running plastics design award in the world.

The Worshipful Company of Horners is an ancient livery company with origins dating back to 1284. Originally overseeing the horn trade, it evolved in 1943 to embrace plastics as the modern equivalent of horn. Today, it remains connected to both the City of London and the plastics industry, supporting innovation, education, and sustainability initiatives.

The BPF Horners Award for Plastics Innovation and Design has been a key part of the industry since 1946, with the first competition held in 1947. In 2002, the Bottlemakers Award was introduced to recognise excellence in plastic packaging, and more recently, the David Williams Award was established to honour products and services that make a positive social impact.
