OMS LubriTek, a leading UK specialist in industrial lubrication services, is proud to announce its 10th year in business. What began in 2016 as “three blokes and a van” has grown into a nationally respected service provider, working with OEMs, moulders, and manufacturers across the plastics supply chain and beyond.
Founded by Jamie Shaw, Paul Howley and Stuart Bogg, the company was born from a shared ambition to change the way hydraulic oil is viewed and managed within industrial machinery. Today, OMS LubriTek is celebrating a record-breaking turnover of £1 million in the 2024–2025 financial year and supports over 130 active customers with bespoke services, education, and technical solutions.
To mark its tenth anniversary, OMS is launching a year-long celebration beginning July 2025 and culminating at Interplas 2026, where the company will take a prominent stand to showcase its services, products, and sustainability initiatives. Visitors to the stand can expect branded giveaways, including bottles of water and on-stand recycling bins, as OMS continues its drive towards environmental responsibility.
The anniversary also brings the launch of a limited-edition yellow barrel design and a special giveaway: for every four barrels or IBC ordered – or any remedial work carried out – customers will receive a numbered disc. Each disc will serve as an entry into a year-end prize draw, with winners to be announced following Interplas.
A Decade of Growth
Starting from a modest base in 2016, the team’s first-year turnover was £72,000 – a figure that tripled to £215,000 by year two. Now hitting over the £1 million mark, OMS has expanded its premises, grown its product range, and added a fourth team member, Jordan, who joined in 2024 as an Oil Management Technician.
Jamie Shaw, Director and co-founder, brings over 25 years’ experience in the lubricants industry, beginning his career in metalworking fluids before moving into the automotive sector. A chance meeting with Paul and Stuart at a previous employer sparked the idea to fill a gap in the plastics industry: high-quality, well-managed hydraulic oil supply and service. That spark became OMS LubriTek.
“We’ve always said oil should be treated as an asset, not a consumable,” said Jamie. “You wouldn’t pour second-hand fuel into a performance car, so why would you do that to a £100,000 moulding machine?”
Educating the Industry
Education remains at the heart of OMS’s mission. The company not only supplies premium oils – including its own GPII UltraLife and GPIV UltraLife PAO-D ranges – but also provides full fluid management services. These include system flushing, filtration, additive treatments such as VRT UltraClean, and oil analysis backed by practical, traffic-light reporting.
With average injection moulding machines holding around 300L of oil, regular monitoring is essential. OMS helps customers achieve extended oil life – in some cases, as far back as 2017 – through proper sampling and maintenance. Machines running 24/7 typically require quarterly analysis, while those on single shifts should be checked twice a year.
Trusted by OEMs and End Users
OMS LubriTek works with machinery manufacturers and end users alike, supporting OEMs with clean first-fills, oil to spec, and flushing services, while helping moulders reduce wear, breakdowns, and unplanned downtime. Their oils meet or exceed leading OEM specifications.
“From day one, our goal has been to improve machine life, prevent failures, and support our customers with knowledge and practical tools,” added Jamie. “This anniversary is a chance to thank everyone who’s been part of the journey – and we’re only just getting started.”
