Future Makers Shortlisted for Recycled Plastic Product of the Year at RECOUP Awards 2025

Future Makers has been shortlisted for Recycled Plastic Product of the Year at the RECOUP Awards 2025 for its Slotted Chair & Side Table Set (Rewind® Edition).
The flagship design is manufactured from post-event Rewind® carpet supplied by MJ’s Event Services Ltd, combined with post-industrial recycled polypropylene. The result is a fully circular furniture system with no adhesives, fixings or composite materials, making it 100% recyclable at end of life. Its flat-pack and modular design supports reuse across exhibitions, events and public spaces, while even the packaging is produced from recycled carpet.
Launched at International Confex in March 2025, the furniture set has since been showcased at the Barbican, RAI Amsterdam and Fira Barcelona, attracting strong interest from venues, buyers and sustainability leaders such as ISLA.
The nomination reflects Future Makers’ commitment to proving that recycled plastic can deliver high-quality, commercially viable and design-led solutions. By working with partners MJ’s Event Services Ltd and Blu Sky Technical Services Ltd, and through the creative vision of designer Tom Hughes of 2hD Architecture Workshop, the project demonstrates how circular innovation can reshape the future of event and exhibition furniture.
The winners of the RECOUP Awards 2025 will be announced later this year.
