On 27th February 2025, Meet the Toolmaker returns for its eleventh edition, delivered as a joint venture between the British Plastics Federation (BPF) and the Gauge and Toolmakers Association (GTMA).
Taking place at Yamazaki Mazak UK in Worcester, the event will feature over 30 toolmakers from across the UK. The event is a place where UK-based plastic processors can meet and source tools from the best toolmakers in the country. There will also be seven small stands showcasing non-tooling products from other leading suppliers as well as presentations from key experts, including Bespak Process Innovations Manager Bob Barton.
Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to tour the facilities at Yamazaki Mazak — global leaders in advanced technology solutions including multi-tasking machines, milling, turning, CNC controls, laser processing and a range of other automation systems.
BPF Membership Services Director Stephen Hunt states: “The BPF has over 300 plastic processors in membership and they are very keen to engage more with UK-based toolmakers and discuss future project opportunities. The partnership with the GTMA really enables us to help facilitate dialogue between these companies and drive more reshoring back to the UK. We have been running the event with the GTMA since 2013. We started with just 14 toolmakers and 23 moulders. The event has grown in size and scale year on year — and we expect our 2025 event will be our biggest yet!”
GTMA Chief Executive Officer Alan Arthur adds: “The GTMA are very happy to be continuing this collaboration with the BPF. We know that each year members from both organisations find it extremely useful. There is a lot of tooling expertise in the UK and some of the very best will be on show at this event. In addition to cultivating some essential business contacts, the interesting range of speakers and the option of touring the excellent facilities at Yamazaki Mazak should make this a truly memorable day. We look forward to seeing you there.”
