Bausano, a leading international manufacturer in the design and production of customised extrusion lines for plastic processing, has announced the launch of its new E-GO R single-screw extruders. Designed to significantly enhance the efficiency of polyolefin recycling processes, the E-GO R range now includes 44, 47, and 50 L/D configurations, adding eight new models and delivering even higher performance.
Technology Serving the Circular Economy: More Power and Efficiency
The E-GO R series combines advanced extrusion and repelletising technologies for recycling polyolefins such as HDPE, LDPE, and PP from both industrial and postconsumer waste. Supporting the transition towards a circular economy, Bausano’s new extruders can handle higher throughputs. The latest generation of E-GO R machines, with sizes ranging from 45/37 to 210/37 L/D, can process up to 1,500– 1,800 kg/h of non-free-flowing material and 1,700–2,000 kg/h of free-flowing material.
The Ideal Solution for Moist Materials
E-GO R extruders are particularly suitable for recycling lightweight materials with moisture content of up to 5–6%. Thanks to a high-performance dual degassing system, residual moisture and volatile substances are removed during processing, preventing defects in the final pellets, such as air bubbles caused by trapped gases. A key strength of E-GO R lies in the exceptional quality of the extruded product, achieved through Bausano’s extensive screw design expertise. Each screw is engineered to minimise mechanical stress on the input material, avoiding degradation of the molten compound.
Custom Downstream Accessories for Unmatched Performance
The solution also features a material dosing system designed to meet specific material characteristics. This system includes two hoppers: the first with a flat bottom for volumetric feeding, and the second with forced feeding to compact the material before extrusion. The line is completed with either a liquid ring or water bath pelletising system.
“To meet the objectives of the recent Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), approved in April 2024, companies must invest in efficient solutions capable of reintegrating highly contaminated plastic materials—often with high moisture and impurity levels after washing—into the production cycle,” explains Marco Masiero, R&D and Test Extrusion Manager at Bausano. “Bausano positions itself as a strategic partner for businesses undergoing this transition, offering a portfolio that is now richer than ever and a true expression of the added value that has always defined our solutions.”
