KraussMaffei UK is further enhancing operational efficiency in injection moulding with the launch of smartOperation – an intuitive machine function designed to simplify production processes, reduce operator errors, and improve process stability across the board.

As part of the smartMachine digital product family, smartOperation provides guided, step-by-step digital support to operators throughout the production cycle, regardless of their experience level. In doing so, it tackles multiple industry-wide challenges, including the shortage of skilled labour and the growing complexity of injection moulding operations.

With smartOperation, a qualified expert sets up the production parameters, after which the system locks out programming pages to prevent accidental changes. From then on, the entire process is controlled via a simplified dashboard and just two physical buttons: green to proceed, red to pause or step back. Operators are guided by clear instructions and visual cues throughout, enabling even untrained staff to run production processes safely and efficiently.
