Advanced Plastics reports successful results from the most recent deployment of Wittmann Tempro units in its injection moulding processes.
The company now operates over 70 injection moulding machines across three UK sites. Wittmann injection moulding machines currently account for some 30% of this total. Wittmann ancillary equipment – dryers, robots, and beside-the-press granulators – also feature in significant numbers across all three factories.
For many years now, the Advanced Plastics Sutton Fields Hull factory has been successfully operating over thirty Wittmann Tempro units for optimum injection moulding performance.
The company’s most recent purchase of Wittmann mould temperature controllers consisted of three Advanced Tempro Basic C140 units. Orrin Smith, Wittmann UK Area Sales Manager, says that “it is always gratifying to know that our Tempro technology remains unrivalled in the moulding mix – for features, performance, energy-saving and also cost-effectiveness.”
In keeping with all other Wittmann injection moulding equipment, the Tempro units offer valuable energy savings to the user: The tool heat-up time is kept to a minimum and is easily competitive with a much larger and more expensive unit. Mould purging with a leakstop function is supplied as standard, together with automatic filling and venting of the mould circuit.
Danny Palmer at Advanced Plastics says “The Wittmann Tempro range continues to impress: It is reliable, energy-efficient and backed by technology that constantly evolves to meet the new challenges of modern temperature control. Tempro units support optimised cycle times, enable tighter process control, and ultimately improve the quality of parts. Wittmann Tempro has long been the established standard for mould temperature control here at our Hull facility.”
Advanced Plastics is one of the UK’s largest injection moulding companies and is midway through a growth plan to take total group turnover to over £50 million.
Significant post-moulding operations at Advanced Plastics include welding, printing, vacuum metalising, inserting, FIP foam sealants, and assembly.
