Injection Moulding Supplies Ltd (IMS) has launched a new website and online shop, bringing together its UK manufacturing capabilities, engineering support and extensive range of injection moulding machine components, consumables and mould shop equipment.

Based in Corby, Northamptonshire, IMS supports injection moulders with standard and bespoke components, practical technical advice and stocked products for moulding machinery and mould maintenance. The company operates its own UK workshop, enabling it to manufacture components quickly and respond to requirements that cannot be met with standard off-the-shelf products.

The IMS team brings considerable experience from across the plastics processing industry. Its founders include former engineers, directors and shareholders of Nickerson/PMS, providing the company with established knowledge of injection moulding machinery, processing requirements and the day-to-day challenges faced by moulding businesses.

IMS Director Nick Verdino was one of the original founders of PMS more than 30 years ago. Engineering Director and IMS co-owner Ethan Di-Iorio began his career as an apprentice at Nickerson/PMS before progressing through engineering roles in the plastics industry, while Sales Manager Matt Hay is another long-standing member of the former PMS team.

This combination of engineering knowledge and practical industry experience allows IMS to help customers identify suitable standard products or develop bespoke solutions for particular machines and processing applications.

UK Manufacturing with Fast Turnaround

At its Corby workshop, IMS manufactures standard and bespoke nozzles, nozzle tips, shut-off assemblies, filter assemblies and mixing assemblies. The company can also produce one-off machined components to suit individual injection moulding machines and customer specifications.

By retaining these capabilities in-house, IMS can work directly with customers to establish the required dimensions, materials and operating conditions before manufacturing the component in the UK. This provides injection moulders with a responsive source of replacements, modifications and individually engineered parts, backed by a team that understands how the components will be used in production.

The company’s manufacturing capability is complemented by extensive stockholding, allowing IMS to support both planned maintenance and urgent production requirements.

New Website Brings IMS Product Range Online

The new IMS website has been developed to make the company’s product range easier to search, check and order online. Customers can browse clear product categories, view availability and purchase stocked items online.

The range includes removable-tip nozzles and nozzle tips, mixing elements, nozzle filters and other components manufactured or supplied for material processing. IMS also stocks heater bands, nozzle heaters, coil heaters, thermocouples and standalone hot runner controllers, cables and plugs.

For mould installation and maintenance, the company supplies mould clamps, washers, bolts, T-slot nuts, brass mould maintenance tools, scrapers and brushes. Its mould cooling range includes industry-standard water line hose, fittings, couplings, connectors, and related equipment.

IMS Adds Japanese Keiba Gate Cutters

IMS has also become a distributor of Japanese Keiba gate cutters, adding a recognised range of premium cutters to its mould shop offering.

Keiba gate cutters are manufactured from specially formulated carbon steel and undergo more than 50 production processes, including in-house heat treatment and hand-finished inspection. The range includes flat-faced cutters, curved-back cutters and angled-head options for accessing gates and sprues in different positions. IMS also supplies economy cutters and flash trimmers.

Nick Verdino, Director of Injection Moulding Supplies Ltd, commented:

“We’ve worked hard to make the new IMS website more than just an online shop. It’s designed to make life easier for injection moulders – find the product, check availability, order it and get it delivered quickly.

“IMS UK is also part of the wider IMS family, with our sister company in the USA having served the plastics industry since 1949. That gives us a fantastic heritage to build on, while our UK operation brings its own engineering expertise and more than 30 years of industry experience.

“Our philosophy is simple: have the right products available, provide practical technical support and deliver when customers need us. The new website is a big step for IMS, but it’s only the beginning.”

The website provides a central point for customers to access the company’s stocked range directly, while its Corby team remains available to discuss product selection, technical queries and bespoke manufacturing requirements.
