ALBIS’ USA Site Achieves IATF 16949 Certification for Automotive Suppliers

The site of ALBIS PLASTICS CORPORATION, US subsidiary of ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH, in Duncan, South Carolina is now certified according to IATF 16949. Therefore the Hamburg-based company now produces according to the most important quality standard for suppliers to the automotive industry not only in Europe and China, but also in North America.
“Automotive is a key industry for ALBIS, which we have been successfully operating in for decades. That’s why we decided to go after this standard globally,” says Ernest Whittaker, Quality Manager Americas at ALBIS.
The certification comprises the activities of ALBIS PLASTICS CORPORATION in the USA, as well ALBIS’ business activities in Mexico. It includes the entire product portfolio, i.e. prime and recycling products.
Stefan Fuhlendorf, President & CEO of ALBIS PLASTICS CORPORATION, adds: “This step marks an important milestone on our growth path in North America. It will enable us to gain an even stronger foothold in the automotive industry.”
