Since its launch in 1997, the Pharmapack annual show has become a key event for the global pharmaceutical industry with its intense focus on matters of packaging and drug delivery. The 2023 exhibition will feature more than 300 exhibitors – Boddingtons included – with show visitors expected from over 75 countries worldwide.
Chris Philpott, Business Development, Boddingtons, says that ‘we walked the Paris show in 2022, and were more than impressed by the level of the visitor footfall and the quality of business being conducted there. We decided at that point to include Pharmapack 2023 in our slate of 2023 marketing. We are expecting a keen uptake for our manufacturing services.’
In recent years Boddingtons has succeeded in winning business in healthcare sectors that are adjacent to its core design and manufacturing competencies in the medical sector. Manufacturing for the ocular care sector is one such example, laboratory products are another and drug delivery systems are set to be another.
Says Philpott, ‘Our award-winning abilities at Boddingtons in the design and manufacture of Class 1 and 2 medical devices will do us no harm at all next week in marketing to the world’s pharmaceutical industries.’
Philpott adds that ‘recent trends in today’s drug delivery systems reach well beyond the simple blister pack technology of yesterday. Much of the medical future now belongs to product solutions that can be administered by the patient at home, and new packaging designs proliferate. Our Class 7 cleanroom moulding technology is ideally placed to work alongside the ingenuity of today’s pharmaceutical pack designers in realising all manner of drug delivery systems for the home consumer – particularly for a growing elderly and infirm population.’
Pharmaceutical packaging solutions will be made at the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Marden, Kent – primarily for injection-moulded packaging components, medical devices and assemblies. All manufacturing is included within the scope of ISO 13485 and MDSAP accreditations.
From concept design, tooling, validation, and CE marking to Medical Device registrations, Boddingtons offers the pharmaceutical packaging sector a fully managed programme, helping with new product introductions and the increase of market share.
