A distinguished group of high achievers in polymer innovation, sustainability and manufacturing excellence have been announced as finalists for the 2025 Plastics Industry Awards, hosted by comedian Ellie Taylor. Winners will be unveiled at a black-tie gala on Friday 21 November 2025 at the InterContinental London Park Lane.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Ellie Taylor, the comedian and actor known for her television work and live performances. Taylor has built a reputation as a sharp, engaging presenter across entertainment, comedy and drama, and will bring professionalism and energy to the evening as she guides the audience through the awards.
Recycling and sustainability remain central themes for 2025, with strong competition across the Recycler of the Year, Sustainable Product Design, and the new Sustainable Extrusion Technology categories. These awards highlight companies developing innovative processes, products and technologies to reduce waste, close the loop, and drive a more sustainable future for the plastics industry.
A new category for 2025, the Polyurethane Innovation Award, reflects the growing importance of innovation within this specialist material sector. The award has attracted strong entries from Covestro, Evonik Comfort & Insulation and the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry.
The awards also continue to celebrate individual achievement, recognising rising talent through the Apprentice or Trainee of the Year Award, as well as long-term contributions with the Unsung Hero Award and the prestigious Ambassador Award. The Apprentice or Trainee Award carries a prize of £500 donated by the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMMDA). Together these categories underline the vital role of people, alongside technology, in shaping the sector’s future.
Supplier Partnerships remain at the heart of industry success, and once again three separate awards – for Injection Moulding, Auxiliary and Toolmaker – showcase the strength of collaboration across the supply chain. These categories demonstrate how close co-operation between suppliers, manufacturers and end-users can deliver new levels of efficiency, innovation and product performance.
