Flex Chooses Wittmann Battenfeld

Leading equipment supplier Wittmann Battenfeld has won a preferred supplier award from international Flex Ltd.

Previously known as Flextronics, Flex Ltd is the third largest global electronics manufacturing services company (EMS) in the world, running operations in over 40 countries worldwide with approximately 200,000 employees.

Barry Hill, WIBA UK Managing Director says that ‘key accounts are the lifeblood of our international business and I am delighted at our preferred supplier success this year with Flex Ltd.’

A total of 160 guests attended this year’s Flex award ceremony in Silicon Valley, where the supplier award was handed to Domenik Nikollaj, International Key Account Manager of the Wittmann Group. Suppliers selected for the awards were nominated by Flex procurement and supply chain professionals and employees in various business groups.

Wittmann Battenfeld UK will be exhibiting at this year’s Interplas 2017 exhibition, NEC Birmingham, September 26-28. The company’s MicroPower moulding machine will mould its ‘Lab on a Chip’ component, technology which was demonstrated at last November’s Compamed medical show in Düsseldorf. The cell will be fully equipped with a rotary table, cleanroom, camera and robot. The transparent part will be moulded and then via the Wittmann automation system.

Wittmann Battenfeld’s MicroPower, SmartPower, EcoPower and MacroPower injection moulding machines are increasingly winning business based on their compact and modular design, energy-efficiency and competitiveness.

‘We’re greatly looking forward to the NEC in September,’ says Barry Hill ‘welcoming customers onto the stand and showing some of our best and newest plastic technology solutions.’
