GANAL and LATI: A Collaboration Built on Detectable Materials, Reliability and Technical Trust

LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A. and GANAL POULTRY S.L. present a new professional video about their collaboration: a concrete example of technical dialogue, application knowledge and materials expertise in demanding poultry and food environments.

Filmed at GANAL, the video is the central element of the project. It provides a direct account of how collaboration between companies can create value when it is based on listening, responsiveness and a shared understanding of real application needs.

GANAL develops engineering solutions for the poultry and food industries, with a strong focus on efficiency, reliability and safety. In these environments, every component matters. Materials used in food conveyor applications must operate under continuous mechanical stress, frequent washing cycles and exposure to cleaning agents, while also helping meet food safety requirements.

In this context, the choice of a detectable material becomes particularly relevant. Detectability can support quality control and risk reduction in food-related applications, but it must be combined with the mechanical, chemical and thermal performance required by the component over time.

This is where LATI contributed as a technology partner, supporting GANAL in the identification of a high-performance thermoplastic material suitable for food conveying systems, capable of combining good mechanical behaviour with the additional benefit of detectability.

GANAL brought its deep understanding of poultry and food systems, while LATI contributed its technical expertise in high-performance thermoplastic compounds and support in material selection.

For LATI, the project also confirmed the importance of considering detectability as part of a broader technical balance.

“Detectability is certainly important, but it is only one part of the equation,” explains Maria Agnese Zappa, Technical Service & Certification Engineer at LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A.

“The material also needs to offer the right balance of wear resistance, good sliding behaviour, chemical resistance to cleaning and sanitising agents, thermal stability and suitability for food-contact environments.”

The video also highlights the relationship behind the technical work. From the beginning, the project was built on open dialogue, a clear understanding of GANAL’s operating conditions and the ability to respond effectively to specific requirements.
