Hille Launches New SteriTouch® Protected Chairs

Leading British furniture manufacturers Hille have selected Radical Materials brand SteriTouch® as the antimicrobial additive of choice for its latest line of hygienic seating.

With the development of this product, Hille and SteriTouch® aim to provide assistance with the strengthening of Covid protection procedures throughout a variety of establishments including the public sector, education and healthcare.

Established in 1906, Hille has a rich history in the crafting and development of robust furniture. Working with renowned designers such as Robin Day, Richard Snell and David Rowe, Hille produce high quality, attractive seating, with their Affinity chair being the first to incorporate antimicrobial properties.

SteriTouch® antimicrobial additives are integrated within the Affinity chairs during the manufacturing process; ensuring that the entire polypropylene moulding is evenly protected. By harnessing the natural antimicrobial properties of silver, the SteriTouch® additive embedded into the chair has been shown to kill 99.99% of tested bacteria including E.coli and Staphylococcus aureus within 18 hours.

In regards to Hille’s decision to incorporate SteriTouch® into the Affinity chair, Huw Durban, Director at Radical Materials stated the following: “It’s great to be working with a company, such as Hille, who are in our immediate vicinity and has seen Covid as an opportunity to answer demand within their given sector.”
