Performance Biolubricants, a division of UK-based manufacturer M&I Materials, has partnered with oil management service provider OMS LubriTek (OMS).

OMS are now able to promote itself as an MI240 HYDRAULIC (MI240) Service Partner, operating within industries where hydraulic oil quality is of paramount importance – with a key focus on the Plastic manufacturing sectors.

Jamie Shaw, Director at OMS commented, “We are delighted to partner with Performance Biolubricants as their Service Provider for the UK’s plastics moulding industry. Having completed the thorough MI240 technical instruction programme, we will be delivering tangible benefits, particularly within the injection and blow moulding sectors, focusing on industries where fast cycle times and high oil temperatures are the norm.

“MI240 offers a new outlook for hydraulic oil, offering a truly sustainable solution with technology that moves away from mineral oil to a chemically engineered Synthetic Ester. MI240 is fully and readily biodegradable, non-hazardous, with excellent inherent film strength (lubricity) resulting in reduced wear at surface interfaces.

“With MI240, machine stoppages because of varnishing – deposit accumulation – will be greatly reduced. At the same time, independent laboratory report trends confirm the potential for MI240 to outlast conventional mineral oils many times over, while staying in excellent condition throughout its life. MI240’s added longevity also benefits customers in greatly reduced used oil disposal costs.”

Performance Biolubricants and OMS LubriTek will both be exhibiting at Interplas at the NEC in Birmingham, UK from September 26-28, 2023.
