Plastek Celebrates 70 Years of Moulding the Future

When Joseph J Prischak founded the Triangle Tool Company in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1956, he could have had little clue that the US, UK, Brazilian and Mexican sites of what is now the Plastek Group would go on to celebrate the 70^th anniversary of this world-leading injection moulding and tooling giant.

Plastek UK, based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, certainly made the most of the opportunity to commemorate the occasion with a fun-filled afternoon of family entertainment featuring inflatable games, live music and an ‘It’s a Knockout’-style tournament.

Thankfully the sun shone on a fabulous turn out of Plastek colleagues and their families, and their generous support for a raffle and a ‘Bottle in a Bag’ game raised an amazing £2,247 for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People – a wonderful organisation which is Plastek UK’s chosen charity for 2026. The company was delighted to top up the total to £2,500, producing an even greater contribution to this excellent local cause.

Organiser Danielle Hilton said, “We’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped to create and run this very successful event, and all those who supported it by attending and purchasing raffle tickets.”

Vice President (Europe) Mick Shaw said, “The generosity, enthusiasm and support made our 70^th anniversary party a tremendous success and a very fitting way to mark this important milestone in the long history of what remains a family business.

“We are proud to support the outstanding work carried out by Rainbows Children’s Hospice, which provides vital care and support to children and families when they need it most, and contribute so much to our community.”
