Sustainable Pioneers Take Centre Stage at FoPI 2025

Innovators in bio-based and circular materials, Solinatra and UBQ Materials, have been announced among the keynote presenters at the forthcoming Festival of Polymer Innovation (FoPI) event, hosted by polymer distributor Plastribution on 11th September 2025.

Held at the Heart of England Conference & Events Centre, FoPI is quickly establishing itself as a key event for polymer processors, brand owners, designers, and technical specialists, with a primary focus on the future of sustainable materials and product development.

Solinatra will showcase its fully bio-based, home-compostable materials made from agricultural waste. Free from fossil fuels and microplastics, these materials provide equivalent functionality to traditional plastics and are already gaining popularity in foodservice, consumer goods and packaging sectors.

UBQ Materials, a clean-tech company based in Israel, will use its main stage appearance to unveil the company’s new UBQ™ Masterbatch, a climate-positive, price-stable circular polymer made from unsorted municipal waste. The product has been engineered to work seamlessly within existing manufacturing infrastructure, providing an accessible and scalable route for brands to meet their sustainability goals.

Both speakers join a line-up that reflects the industry’s increasing commitment to net zero targets and circular economy principles. They’ll appear alongside Notpla, the Earthshot Prize-winning start-up known for its biodegradable packaging made from seaweed and plants. Notpla’s presence at FoPI reinforces the event’s status as a leading platform for material innovation with environmental purpose.
