Skills shortages, tight deadlines and stretched budgets are challenges only too familiar to many manufacturers. The t-win, by ENGEL, with 6,500 kN clamping force, tackles them head-on: as a near-standard two-platen machine, it will be running live on the show floor at Fakuma 2026, offering a short dry cycle time, high availability and no costly special equipment.
When a new business opportunity comes along, every day counts. Production needs to get up and running fast, with a reliable machine that’s available right away – no long lead times, no lengthy preliminary checks. Many companies also lack skilled specialists, so the equipment has to be safe and straightforward for semi-skilled operators to run, all while keeping fixed costs down. This is exactly where WINTEC comes in. At Fakuma 2026, a live production run of coat hangers for Leifheit will show how time pressure, limited resources and investment security can all be reconciled on a single t-win series machine.
The Exhibit: Coat Hangers For Leifheit
At Fakuma 2026, a live production run of coat hangers for Leifheit will show off the strengths of the t-win series in high-volume manufacturing.
On the stand, the t-win 6500 will use a 4+4-cavity family mould to produce four hanger bodies and four hooks at once, with each geometry moulded separately within the tool. A viper 20 linear robot will then take care of part removal and place the components onto a conveyor belt. With a cycle time of about 40 seconds, the cell achieves an output of around 360 coat hangers an hour, processing a polypropylene copolymer from Borouge International (formerly Borealis).
A Machine Concept Built For Less Downtime and More Output
The WINTEC t-win 6500 is designed for high production volumes without compromising on quality or budget. Its build stays close to standard, but its performance does not: short cycle times, high repeatability and low reject rates set it apart from comparable machines on the market.
Fast to get hold of, fast to get going: whether supplied straight from stock or with a short lead time, straightforward commissioning gets the machine into production without detours. The focus is on proven, robust technology rather than unnecessary extras, which keeps maintenance to a minimum. And despite offering specialised functions, the WINTEC machine needs no expensive optional equipment, noticeably cutting the investment required.
What Customers Receive
More compact: a short footprint thanks to the two-platen concept – freeing up floor space for additional equipment without extending the hall.
More productive: the servo-hydraulic two-platen system delivers fast clamping force build-up and synchronous locking, resulting in shorter cycle times, more parts per hour and noticeably lower energy costs per part.
More available: a robust, field-proven design with easily accessible maintenance points means less downtime and lower cost per part.
Future-proof: the control system grows with your needs – upgrades can be added at any time, with no need to invest in a new machine.
This is all made possible by the t-win series’ friction-free two-platen design: because the mounting platen never touches the tie bars, the clamping unit runs virtually wear-free, precisely and quickly, combining rigid mechanics with excellent platen parallelism. The injection unit is likewise engineered for speed and efficiency: linear guides ensure low friction, low energy consumption and high accuracy during injection and holding pressure. The C3 control system, with its 15-inch full-HD touchscreen and one-touch operation, makes the technology intuitive to use, even for semi-skilled staff.
Smart Functions Included as Standard
Even in its standard configuration, WINTEC customers benefit from ENGEL’s intelligent iQ assistance systems. At the heart of this is iQ weight control: the self-regulating system keeps the injection volume constant, resulting in significantly lower reject rates, higher productivity and a faster ramp-up after downtime, regardless of fluctuating ambient conditions.
