Wittmann Battenfeld UK – Building for the Future

K 2022 – the world’s premier plastics exhibition – is but two weeks over and already the consensus is that the event succeeded in providing the global plastics industry with a much-needed shot in the arm.

Wittmann, for one, enjoyed confirmation at the show that its strategy of ergonomic and low-energy equipment design and build is just the tonic that injection moulding needs at the present moment.

Dan Williams, Joint MD of Wittmann Battenfeld UK reports that ‘although the total K visitor footfall was reported to be about 80% of the pre-pandemic 2019 event, the Wittmann daily experience was so positive and busy as to make that statistic unnoticeable.

He says that ‘the interest and enthusiasm shown on both our Wittmann booths from all corners of the UK and Ireland was very heartening and very positive commercially – both from existing customers and also for new business.

Williams adds that ‘Wittmann’s very public commitment to user energy savings is really getting through. Our market-leading position for energy efficient machines is winning us new business in many different areas.

Wittmann Battenfeld UK sees this as only good news for all UK moulders. ‘Right now,’ says Williams, ‘the sector needs all the help we can find in an effort to contain costs and reduce overheads.’

Meantime Wittmann Battenfeld UK’s focus now returns to marketing and promotion in its home markets – rejuvenated and under the maroon corporate colours of the Wittmann livery.

Joint MD Tracy Cadman points out that next year will see the 75th Anniversary of the UK’s triennial Interplas exhibition: ‘Despite the very difficult business climate we hope that our sector can come together and rally round at Interplas at the NEC, September 26-28th.’
