WITTMANN at Fakuma 2026: High Performance with Maximum Cost Efficiency

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

At the Fakuma 2026 exhibition from 12 to 16 October, the WITTMANN Group will present the complete range of its primus products for the first time. From primus auxiliaries and primus robots to the EcoPrimus injection moulding machine. Smart Choices, Smart Savings – this is WITTMANN’s motto at Fakuma 2026.

Primus means: a clear focus on essentials for maximum material, energy and cost efficiency without any compromise on performance, quality or spare parts availability.

Not every injection moulding challenge requires a customised solution with many options and special technologies. The key to high cost efficiency lies in adapting the production technology to the specific requirements. As much as necessary, as little as possible: this is precisely what WITTMANN is targeting. Across its entire product portfolio, all of the models with primus as part of their names stand for ultimate cost-efficiency and reliability in standard applications with clearly defined production process requirements.  Further attributes of the Primus products from WITTMANN are short delivery times, fast start-up and easy operation, since sufficiently skilled specialist staff members have no longer been available in every shift for quite some time.

At the WITTMANN booth, a special presentation area will be dedicated to the primus auxiliary equipment.  It will cover all functions from raw materials handling to in-line recycling. Representative examples in this area will be the Drymax primus granulate dryer, the Tempro primus temperature controller and the S-Max primus screenless granulator. Further items to be experienced live at the trade fair booth: a Card primus dryer for drying small quantities, a Feedmax primus central material loader and a primus Robot, as well as the EcoPrimus injection moulding machine. Whether as stand-alone exhibits or integrated in a production cell together with other primus equipment: primus contributes everywhere substantially to high cost-efficiency and competitiveness in injection moulding production.

Premiere for Tempro primus 90

The new Tempro primus 90 temperature controller will celebrate its world premiere at the Fakuma 2026. Its seven-segment display has been replaced by a clear 3.5″ TFT LCD colour display. By this move, Tempro primus 90 is setting new benchmarks in intuitive menu navigation. The temperature controller from the primus product range is the first choice for all applications requiring precise temperature regulation, without any need for additional functions. Place it, connect it, finished – this is the motto, since Tempro primus 90 starts working reliably at once after setup. PT1000 temperature sensors ensure high regulation accuracy. Generously dimensioned pipe diameters inside the cooling coils increase the cooling capacity.

Resource-saving in-line recycling

The most recent primus products also include the S-Max primus screenless granulator for use directly beside the injection moulding machine. Thanks to its low motor speed of 27 rev/min with 50 Hz, this beside-the-press granulator can process all engineering plastics, including styrene and acrylates, as well as fibreglass-reinforced materials. The low motor speed also reduces noise emissions, energy consumption and dust generation. The result is a highly homogeneous grain size, which ensures high parts quality in processing the regrind. A further consideration in developing this product was providing the grinding tools with a long service life. All in all, the S-Max primus stands out by its low maintenance requirements, easy cleaning and fast material changeovers. In this way, the S-Max primus supports resource-saving in-line recycling.

Primus robots with up to 8 kg load capacity

The primus linear robots stand for cost-efficiency in pick-&-place applications and simple automation tasks. The latest model, the primus 118, extends the range of applications for primus robots. It is laid out for handling loads of up to 8 kg. The higher load capacity of this primus robot is based on a new design with reinforced demoulding and vertical axes as well as more powerful drives.

The robot offers up to ten valve slots and thus provides a variety of combination options for gripper and vacuum circuits. Up to 8 vacuum circuits are possible. To shorten the parts removal time and consequently the total cycle time, the robot comes equipped with the Smart Removal function as standard.

The new primus 118 can be installed extremely flexibly on various injection moulding machine models and sizes up to 250 tons in clamping force. Since the drilling pattern inside the robot’s main frame has not been changed by comparison to earlier series, the new primus 118 can be retrofitted very easily to existing equipment. Thanks to its full-fledged R9 control system, including the R9 Teachbox, it offers full scale-up flexibility. Additional rotation and tilt axes are available to cover a wide range of applications. In this way, a variety of parts depositing patterns can be implemented with one B servo axis. An A+C servo axis is used where pivoting motions are required in addition to rotation, in order to deposit complex parts geometries in the correct position.

All-electric precision for high production volumes

EcoPrimus is the name of the all-electric injection moulding machine from WITTMANN, which combines high performance, precision and reliability with cost efficiency in standard applications. At the Fakuma, it will produce protective caps for insulin pens inside an 8-cavity mould at the WITTMANN booth in hall B1. For this task, it is equipped with a primus robot.

This machine with 1000 kN clamping force has been specially developed for compact single-component injection moulding in large quantities. It reaches injection speeds of 200 mm/s and operates with a control system of the latest B8X generation from WITTMANN for full 4.0 compatibility. Direct servo drives and the utilisation of deceleration energy reduce its energy consumption to a minimum.

EcoPrimus
Focusing on essentials, the all-electric EcoPrimus injection moulding machine offers an outstanding level of cost efficiency. At Fakuma 2026, it will demonstrate its high performance by producing protective caps for insulin pens.
