BENVIC Adds Data Applications to the Linkflex Halogen-Free Range

Europe’s leading polymer compounder, Benvic, has launched new Linkflex grades that provide superior performance for data communication uses – mainly in the fibre optic field.

‘Our new grades, such as the HFS606 and HFS607 have been designed specifically for the fibre optic market. We created these materials primarily to provide excellent sheathing properties that also can be manufactured with ease,’ says Vincec Mercade, Benvic Linkflex product manager.

‘The HFS607 material also greatly enhances the fire resistance of the finished product. The new grades are an extension of all the success factors present in the original Linkflex launch – superior performance at optimum cost for all our customers,’ adds Vincec.

Benvic has approached the cabling market in a pragmatic way, firstly by creating a dedicated cable product development team that is staffed with engineers from the cable industry. Based on decades of experience, the Benvic cable team is, therefore, able to not only propose new product solutions for the market but can also optimise the material content for existing applications and also make it bespoke for particular applications.

Much work has also been done by Benvic regarding the ease of plastics processability. The success of early customer trials means that Linkflex production volumes will be increased in the coming months.

Benvic launched its Linkflex Low-Smoke Zero Halogen polymer compounds back in 2020. The Linkflex product family is mainly designed to comply with new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR) requirements, with initial applications mainly targeting low voltage requirements in the building market.

The Linkflex range is in continuous development and will soon launch other new compounds for new applications later in the year.

Benvic will be exhibiting these products and capabilities at Wire 2022, the industry’s leading global exhibition for the sector – Düsseldorf, Germany, June 20-24.

Visit Benvic at the Wire 2022 show in Hall 11 stand 77, to sample and discuss all of the company’s new and upcoming compounds for the electrical cable industry.
