LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A. publishes the 2025 Sustainability Report, a document describing the company’s progress on environmental, social and governance issues, with the aim of offering stakeholders — including customers, suppliers, employees, communities and institutions — a clear and transparent overview of the results achieved and the challenges still ahead.

A significant year for LATI

The Report is part of a particularly important year for LATI, which in 2025 celebrated the 80th anniversary of its foundation and obtained recognition as a Historic Brand of National Interest.
In an international context marked by market volatility, geopolitical tensions and pressure on raw materials, the company has continued to invest in innovation, production efficiency, people and the sustainability of its industrial model.

Key figures for 2025

Among the main figures for 2025, LATI recorded a turnover of 152.2 million euros, an EBITDA of 14.7 million euros, 2,195 active formulations, 2,022 customers and 758 suppliers, 79% of whom were Italian.

Production volumes increased by 3% compared with 2024.

These results are part of a path of industrial consolidation that combines international presence, technical expertise and strong local roots.

Environment and energy

On the environmental front, the Report highlights the use of electricity from 100% renewable sources, 1,658 GJ of self-produced energy from the photovoltaic plant, a market-based emission intensity of 0.06 tCO₂eq/t.

On the direct emissions front, LATI offset 91% of Scope 1 emissions related to natural gas through certified carbon credits in 2025. The “Nature Conservation Campo dei Fiori Varese” project is also part of this context, which contributes to the redevelopment of the Campo dei Fiori Park and the protection of local biodiversity.

In 2025, the company also expanded the scope of reporting its emissions along the value chain, completing the calculation of Scope 3 emissions for the years 2024 and 2025 for the first time. This is an important step to gain a deeper understanding of the company’s emissions impact and guide future actions to manage and reduce indirect emissions in a more informed way.

In 2025, LATI also obtained ISO 50001 certification for the Gornate plant, confirming the adoption of a structured energy management system, and Operation Clean Sweep® certification for the Vedano Olona and Gornate Olona plants, as part of the activities dedicated to preventing the dispersion of plastic granules into the environment.

Innovation, research and materials

Innovation remains a key pillar of the company’s sustainability journey.

In 2025, the R&D team launched 91 new projects, also focusing on sustainability, PFAS-free materials, solutions for the automotive sector, 3D printing and self-extinguishing compounds.

As part of the development of solutions with reduced environmental impact and based on recycled or renewable raw materials, LATI introduced 93 new product codes, including 19 sustainable products, 15 LATIECO, 3 products with recycled fibers and 1 LATIGEA.

The Report also describes LATI’s participation in the European project DESIDERATA, dedicated to the development of safer and more sustainable alternatives to critical substances used in flame retardants, plasticisers and surfactants.

People, skills and corporate culture

The sustainability of an industrial enterprise is also about the way people work, grow, are listened to and engaged.

In 2025, LATI reports 321 people and an average of 21 hours of training per employee. Alongside technical and managerial training, the company carries out initiatives dedicated to welfare, parenting, inclusion and physical and mental health.

This path includes welfare and well-being programs, activities related to UNI/PdR 125:2022 Gender Equality certification, initiatives to strengthen the corporate ethical culture and listening and reporting tools. The Report also devotes significant attention to health and safety initiatives, including the extension of the use of industrial exoskeletons to the Vedano Olona plant, accompanied by training sessions for the correct and safe use of the devices.

The path of inclusion has also translated into awareness-raising and active participation initiatives, including activities with the Libellula Foundation, moments of discussion dedicated to gender equality and meritocracy and LATI’s participation in Varese Pride 2025.

These are elements that describe a business culture in which safety, skills, respect and employability remain essential factors for building value over time.

Michela Conterno, CEO at LATIStatement by CEO Michela Conterno

“For a family-owned industrial company, sustainability means governing very concrete choices: investments, materials, energy, skills, safety and relationships with the local community. Publishing the Report means taking responsibility for making our path visible, including the areas that still need to be developed. The results achieved in 2025 are important, but above all they remind us that the transition must be addressed with a structured approach, active listening and continuity, together with LATI’s people and all the stakeholders who share this responsibility with us,” says Michela Conterno, CEO of LATI.

Benefit Corporation and dialogue with stakeholders

Since 2022, LATI has been a Benefit Corporation and has included three purposes of common benefit in its Articles of Association: sustainability of products, well-being of people inside and outside the organisation, development of the local community and business ecosystem.

The Sustainability Report is therefore not only a reporting tool, but also an opportunity for dialogue with those who participate directly or indirectly in the creation of the company’s value: people, customers, suppliers, partners, institutions and local communities.

The publication of the document confirms LATI’s desire to communicate its path transparently, enhancing the progress achieved without losing sight of the areas that are still evolving: from decarbonisation to the management of impacts along the supply chain, from innovation in materials to safety, up to the strengthening of skills and corporate culture.
