Boddingtons Succeeds at Compamed 2021

Kent-based injection moulder Boddingtons Plastics reported brisk activity and quality enquiries at Compamed 2021, the world’s leading medical supplies and services exhibition, which took place last week in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Chris Philpott and Tony Ayley (pictured) represented the company for the duration of the exhibition. “The Covid-19 background presented us with a bit of an unknown factor but, judging by the footfall, the medical and healthcare sector is booming currently,” Chris said. “Many healthcare OEMs and medical customers made the journey to Germany to network, fact-find and purchase from the global supply base that is gathered here.”

Boddingtons first exhibited at Medica Compamed in 2016. The company offered Compamed show visitors Class 7 cleanroom manufacturing services for the production of Class 1 and Class 2 medical devices. These operations are supported by international quality management systems with full regulatory compliance services on all five continents.

Boddingtons operates a state-of-the-art facility in South East England to produce injection moulded components, medical devices and assemblies. All manufacturing is included within the scope of ISO 13485 and MDSAP accreditation. The FDA registered company has won the prestigious Plastics Industry Awards a record-breaking four times for its design-for-manufacture expertise.

From concept design, tooling, validation and CE marking to medical device registrations, Boddingtons supplies a fully managed programme, helping customers with new product introductions and increasing market share.

Boddingtons has been in high demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, designing and producing ventilator parts, PPE products and other complex components. Mould tool transfers to Boddingtons have also helped customers to boost the quality and cost-effectiveness of their medical projects.

Recent company investments through 2020 and 2021 include nine FANUC machines, ENGEL and KUKA Robotic Automation and Arburg machinery; a Mitutoyo Quick Vision Active CMM system with touch probe and further Class 7 cleanroom expansions.
