Chinese Visitors Boost Exports for Devon Manufacturer

Fraser Anti-Static, the Bampton based manufacturer of industrial anti-static equipment is expecting export sales to increase yet again after a successful visit from its Chinese partners.

As one of the world’s leading experts in the management of static electricity, Fraser Anti-Static already exports to over 70 countries worldwide. However, the recent visit by its joint venture company, Shanghai Fraser Static Technology Co Ltd and Beijing Air Leader Technology Corp. (a leading distributor) has boosted expectations that China will quickly become a key export market.

According to Fraser CEO, Bruce Clothier, China has already seen significant growth with a 46% increase in sales to China during the last 12 months.

However, as Bruce explains, “this is only the start. China has a huge manufacturing base that is incredibly diverse and growing in sophistication. This brings many challenges in terms of manufacturing efficiencies and the elimination of static electricity issues. The Chinese are not afraid to invest in the best technology to help them improve, and in the case of static management…Fraser is one of the world leaders.”

During the recent visit, the Chinese visitors undertook a tour of the Bampton factory, meeting the production and customer services team, before receiving training on several of the new products produced by Fraser for 2018.

Asked whether their visitors enjoyed their Devon experience, Bruce commented:

“They loved it. We’re spoilt for choice in Devon for excellent restaurants and pubs, and as you know British food and drink exports to China are soaring at the moment. It was a real boost to our team also, especially as we all managed to learn a little bit of Chinese during their stay.”

Over the coming months, Fraser Anti-Static will now be working with the Department for International Trade (South West), to research new growth opportunities with China.
