When a well-known UK moulder was looking for a cap closer for a 32 cavity hinged cap component, they reached out to DB-Automation for the system.
DB proposed the complete system with the integration of a Sepro success 22 robot for product de-mould, utilising bespoke end of arm tooling and an automated closing unit adjacent to the injection moulding machine for closing and inspection of 32 caps.
DB-Automation were delighted to be awarded the project and have the opportunity to develop this multi-cavity system. The system was an overall success for the client and DB achieved a 15% reduction in the quoted cycle time on the system providing an additional 8 ½ million components a year.
Since the initial system DB-Automation have been awarded the order for a repeat unit currently in production for this client.
