Great Central Plastics Expands with 1,200 sq ft Assembly Facility

Great Central Plastics has expanded its operations with the opening of a dedicated 1,200 sq ft assembly facility, located alongside its main Woodford Halse site. The new space has been fitted out to provide a clean, controlled environment for the post-moulding operations that sit outside the core mould shop, giving these processes the dedicated focus and space they deserve.

The facility brings together a range of services under one roof, including pad printing, hot tip foiling, part assembly, and bespoke packing requirements. By housing these operations separately, Great Central Plastics can maintain tighter quality control at every stage of the process and offer customers a more complete, end-to-end service without the need to bring in third parties.

The expansion marks a milestone in the company’s continued growth journey, with significant investment in new injection moulding machinery, automation and material handling systems to follow in the coming months. Led by increased demand for its eco-friendly moulding work, new projects and existing project growth have created a need for larger, more modernised moulding machinery as the main factory has begun to operate 24 hours per day, to reach capacity.  The new, second facility, housing the post-moulding work, enables further expansions in the main mould shop, as the family-run injection moulder expands across two sites for the first time in its 25+ year history.
