KraussMaffei Receives Trio of Industry Awards

KraussMaffei has been recognised for its outstanding work in mechanical engineering and digital services, having won three awards in recent months.

The company scooped first place for the Red Dot Design Award, second place in the Industry of Things World Award and was ranked as one of the top five Champions of Digital Transformation.

Red Dot Design Award 2021

The company received the coveted Red Dot Design Award 2021 in the Brands & Communication category for the control design of pioneer ProcessControl from the extrusion division. Following reception of the German Brand Award in both 2018 and 2020 and a nomination for the Design Award 2021, this is the fourth awards recognition for a KraussMaffei corporate design project. The international jury awards the coveted seal exclusively to entries that impress with their high design quality and creativity.

The Red Dot is already our fourth award since the introduction of the new corporate design. We are delighted that this is yet another confirmation of the quality and professionalism of our external image,” says Eva März, responsible for Corporate Brand Management and Strategy at KraussMaffei.

René Jordan, Team Lead Control Technology Automation, who managed the project on the extrusion side, adds, “Our goal was to significantly improve the ease of use for the customer and to harmonise the design. We succeeded! We are very pleased with this award.”

The pioneer processControl project, which was carried out by an internal KraussMaffei team from the Control Technology Extrusion and Corporate Brand Management departments, together with the HMI Project design office, is to be rolled out to other technology areas in the future.

Industry of Things World Award 2021

The Industry of Things World Award 2021 was presented in Berlin at the international expert conference of the same name, which focuses on the industrial internet of things (IIoT). KraussMaffei’s IIoT product socialProduction was honoured with second place in the category ‘Economic success and sustainability: using the IoT to CO2-neutral production.’

The award honours exceptional projects in the manufacturing industry and shows that KraussMaffei can compete with renowned companies such as Mercedes-Benz or Johnson & Johnson when it comes to Industry 4.0,” explains Jonas Schwarz, Global Digital Product Manager.

Dr. Maximilian Wank, Data Scientist and Software Developer in the socialProduction team adds, “We are particularly proud of the simplicity of the solution, one of the main evaluation criteria, which was largely achieved through close cooperation with our customers.”

Among the top five in the Digital Transformation Champions 2021

KraussMaffei was selected by the management consultancy Infront Consulting and the business magazine Capital as one of the top five Champions of Digital Transformation 2021 in the category mechanical engineering. The ranking was derived from a comprehensive benchmarking study on the status of digital transformation at 127 companies from eight industries in German-speaking countries. KraussMaffei was honoured for its digital offerings to support the machine business and intelligent machines ex-works.
