The conference programmes for the three focused theatres at the AMI Plastics World Expos Europe have been unveiled. Taking place at the Brussels Expo in Belgium on 11-12 September 2024, these sessions are free to attend and cover plastics recycling, compounding, and extrusion. Curated by AMI’s expert conference teams, the programmes feature business debates, technology talks, market forecasts, and practical training seminars.

Andy Beevers, Events Director at AMI, stated: “These conference sessions offer a unique opportunity for attendees to identify key market trends, learn practical tips to enhance manufacturing efficiency, and discover innovative technologies to give their companies a competitive edge.

At the Plastics Recycling World Expo theatre, three-panel discussions will address pressing topics such as the European packaging and packaging waste directive, the use of recycled plastics in packaging, and strategies for developing sustainable supply chains. These panels will feature representatives from prominent organisations and companies including EuRIC, EXPRA, Berry bpi, and Municipal Waste Europe. The keynote presentations include Nestlé sharing insights on its approach to sustainability in packaging, plus recycling market trends and forecasts from AMI. Expert speakers will also cover the latest advances in sorting, recycling, and additive technologies.

The Compounding World Expo theatre will highlight the latest technology and market developments. Discussions will delve into the future of plastics compounding and masterbatch production, as well as the industry’s response to regulatory and sustainability challenges. These involve senior representatives from companies such as Wells Plastics, Budenheim/QolorTech, Holland Colours, Sumika Polymer Compounds, and Witcom Engineering Plastics. Martyna Fong, AMI’s Director of Market Intelligence, will provide a market overview on European polymer demand trends. Additionally, training seminars will be offered by KraussMaffei and Farrel Pomini.

The Innovation and Extrusion theatre will feature sessions on the future of pipe, film, and profile production, along with presentations on the latest innovations in a range of plastics technologies, including process modelling and optimisation. The discussions and talks will feature senior representatives from Aimplas, Aliaxis, Avery Dennison, Coperion, CEFLEX, EPPA and Flexible Packaging Europe.
