Earlier this year, Plunkett Associates moved to new premises with three times more space, and it is filling up nicely after the company recently took delivery of a new Yizumi 220 moulding machine.
Plunkett Associates, specialists in low volume and prototype manufacturing and tooling, recently moved just five minutes down the road from its previous premises and is only 10 minutes away from Junction 12 of the M5. So for those who are local or planning a visit once the build is complete, there is no need to worry! Plunkett Associates has moved with its sister company Adept Precision to Unit 4/5, Central Trading Estate, Cole Avenue, Gloucester.
The new layout allows Plunkett Associates to continue to grow and develop with dedicated areas for tooling, CNC machining, moulding and 3D printing. In addition, the company has more space for assembly work and to be able to implement additional quality control processes and systems. With space for a few more machines, Plunkett Associates has invested in a new Yizumi 220.
The Yizumi 220 has arrived
A new Yizumi 220 is now in situ, ready to be commissioned later this month, once a larger power supply has been installed to accommodate this and future development plans.
Supporting new projects
This investment is to support a major new project from a global telecoms player and is symptomatic of Plunkett’s vision and commitment to support and invest in new business. The Yizumi 220 will allow Plunkett Associates to more than triple the size and weight of the parts it was previously able to mould (up to 850g)!
Delivering on time and to schedule
In addition, with the increased automation planned for this machine, the company’s production hours will be vastly greater than the normal working day to allow Plunkett Associates to fulfil clients’ delivery requirements on time and to schedule.
