Have you had a recent visit from the HSE and been given advice on bacterial control within metalworking fluids used on site? Or are you already aware of this initiative?
For a number of years the HSE have recommended that dip slide monitoring takes place on all machines using metalworking fluids to control bacterial levels and that control must be demonstrated by correct documentation.
This could prove a daunting task to companies, especially as recommendations are given. However, as well as offering oil management services, Rockson LubriTek have vast experience of the metalworking industry and are here to offer assistance. This could simply be technical advice on the best course of action, through to our technicians carrying out machine sump clean outs, refill with fresh cutting fluids and implementing HSE compliant systems.
Further information can be found on the HSE’s website relating to this topic http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/guidance/mw05.pdf.
