Precision Injection Moulder Invests in Chen Hsong Machine

SynthoTec has recently invested in a new Chen Hsong injection moulding machine, supplied by APM Sands. This latest investment will form a high-volume automotive bearing cage production cell complete with six-axis robotics from Kawasaki.

Malvern-based SynthoTec is one of Europe’s premier manufacturers of injection-moulded, ultra-high precision components. Tracing its technological development back to 1970, the company established its current manufacturing plant in 1990. Opening a second manufacturing facility in Slovakia in 2006, SynthoTec is now well placed to meet the strict requirements of the automotive industry.

SynthoTec manufactures precision mouldings for almost all types of bearings. As well as offering a standard range of diameters from 20mm to 250mm, it also produces mouldings for all types of bearings to the customer’s specification. SynthoTec has remained at the forefront of bearing development and efficiency for over 50 years. The company proudly boasts it operates all production processes at both factories, using Industry 4.0 principles.

The company has recently invested in a new Chen Hsong injection moulding machine to support its continuous growth. This latest investment will form a high-volume automotive bearing cage production cell complete with six-axis robotics from Kawasaki.

This Chen Hsong 88-tonne model is from the Jetmaster MK6 servo-hydraulic series, where energy efficiency combined with reliability has established this a very popular choice with UK moulders.

SynthoTec’s Operations Director Wayne Williams commented: “Energy saving and competitive pricing, added to the full after-sales support offered by local agent APM, was critical in the machine selection criteria”.
