Examples of this have been where Telsonic UK has built and supplied a suite of manual machines in record time for the European arm of a global UK customer involved in the manufacture of single-use face masks. Other projects undertaken in recent weeks have included the supply of system modules and tooling for integration within several machines to be used to ultrasonically cut and bond Tyvec fabric for PPE garment products.
Telsonic UK also delivered a complete ultrasonic welding system for a major UK Medical manufacturer, involved in the production of a wrist strap medical device for the NHS, used in the care of high blood clot risk patients critically ill with the virus.
Although the situation is starting to show tentative signs of easing, Telsonic remains heavily involved in discussions and project development with a number of customers, offering expertise in materials, and assisting with laboratory trials to evaluate and confirm production methods using the company’s ultrasonic technology. When commissioned, these projects will use Telsonic’s welding and cut’n’seal processes to manufacture a wide range of items, including respiratory barrier products, IV filters and other types of filtration pads.
A concerted effort by the UK business, combined with close liaison with other Telsonic Global Sites and the company’s supply chain, has enabled the company to respond quickly to increased demand, whilst maintaining target lead times for machine solutions and tooling.
