LATI Industria Termoplastici S.p.A. will host the online technical course “Detectable Plastics for Conveyor Systems: Less Friction, More Reliability, Zero Contamination” on July 1st, from 11:00 to 11:45 am (CEST). The webinar is designed for engineers, conveyor belt manufacturers, quality managers, maintenance professionals, and companies operating in industries where process safety is a critical priority.
The course has been developed to address practical industry needs, including reducing material-related downtime, selecting higher-performance polymers for dynamic applications, improving safety in food and pharmaceutical processing, and evaluating solutions already implemented in real-world components.
In food and pharmaceutical conveying systems, the choice of plastic material directly affects wear resistance, friction, dimensional stability, maintenance requirements, and the risk of contamination caused by fragmented particles. For this reason, LATI will explore the role of magnetically detectable thermoplastic materials MDT, specifically engineered to be identified by detection systems while supporting demanding technical applications.
The webinar will cover materials offering high-dimensional stability, self-lubricating and tribological solutions for friction control, and compounds detectable by both metal detectors and X-ray inspection systems. The topic will be addressed from an application-oriented perspective, linking material properties to the operational requirements of conveyor belts, components, and accessories used in critical production environments.
“A plastic material intended for dynamic applications should not be evaluated based solely on its mechanical strength. Friction, wear, detectability, washdown performance, stability, and safety are all parameters that can significantly impact process continuity and risk management,” explains LATI.
The course will be presented by Luca Posca, Group Technical Assistance Marketing Director at LATI, holding a degree in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. Posca has been with the company since 2000 and supports manufacturers in selecting and developing thermoplastic materials for complex technical applications, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and safety.
This initiative is part of LATI’s ongoing commitment to supporting industrial companies that design technical components and high-performance application solutions. Additional information on the application context is available through LATI’s dedicated industry resources.
Participation is free of charge, with limited places available. To register and view the full agenda: Detectable plastic materials for conveyor belts – online technical course
