All Eyes on Plastics Live in 2022

All eyes are on Plastics Live, which will take place in Coventry from July 5-6, 2022, and is set to be the most innovative event for the plastics sector for many years.

The key to Plastics Live is that it is embracing not just cutting-edge developments in traditional plastics manufacturing, but via allied events is also looking at new possibilities that exist through the use of additive manufacturing (through AMPLAS), Industry 4.0 (through Industry 4.0 in Plastics), and issues to do with sustainability (through Sustainable Plastics Live).

Modern plastics manufacturing needs to integrate technologies and techniques that keep it cost-effective and deliver innovative products in a timely manner. For example, many plastics manufacturers are waking up to the fact that additive manufacturing (AM) technologies are not really competitive technologies that will undercut the use of legacy manufacturing processes, but instead are complementary technologies that cater for smaller volume runs and for the production of geometries impossible using alternative processes.

Likewise, Industry 4.0 encourages the integration of intelligent production systems and advanced information technologies. The promotion of a digital manufacturing strategy within the context of the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” is fundamental for many plastic manufacturing companies if they are to remain competitive in the years to come, and the key to this is how OEMs incorporate new generative design tools and AM into their manufacturing regimes.

The time has gone when AM and Industry 4.0-only events make any sense. These technologies and initiatives form part of the pragmatic decisions plastics manufacturers need to make today to ensure their viability into the future and so deserve to exist in a show focused on modern-day manufacturing.

Registration for Plastics Live and its allied events is now open. Register today, and be a part of the future of plastics manufacturing.
