Mary Aiken-Wood brings a strong technical foundation to the role. With a background in formulation chemistry, she has worked in the chemical manufacturing industry since 2016 and entered the plastics industry two years ago. This mix of hands-on formulation experience and commercial understanding positions her well to support customers with demanding technical and commercial requirements.

She is particularly focused on contributing to Bjørn Thorsen’s ongoing growth through a practical, customer-centred approach. Mary was attracted to the company by its combination of ambitious development plans and a clear commitment to customer care, all supported by strong technical know-how across its product portfolio.

Shortly after joining, Mary visited the Bjørn Thorsen team in France, together with Lubrizol Engineered Polymers. The trip provided a deeper insight into the materials and expertise behind the company’s customised elastomer solutions for a wide range of applications. Experiences like this help ensure that customer conversations are grounded in a detailed understanding of material performance, processing behaviour and end-use requirements.
