Injection Moulding Supplies Ltd (IMS) has launched a UK-based machining and engineering operation from its facility in Corby, Northamptonshire, combining in-house manufacturing capabilities with more than 30 years of experience supporting the plastics processing industry.
Established to support injection moulders with engineering solutions, bespoke components and mould shop supplies, IMS operates its own CNC machining facility alongside extensive stockholding. The company is focused on providing responsive support for moulders requiring anything from standard replacement parts to individually engineered components.
The team behind IMS brings considerable experience from across the injection moulding sector. Its founders include former engineers, directors and shareholders of Nickerson/PMS, with the company bringing that established technical knowledge into a new UK manufacturing and supply operation.
Among the team is Engineering Director and IMS co-owner Ethan Di-Iorio, who began his career as an apprentice at Nickerson/PMS before progressing through the industry. IMS Director Nick Verdino was one of the original founders of PMS more than 30 years ago, while Sales Manager Matt Hay is another long-standing member of the former PMS team.
This experience underpins the company’s engineering capabilities in Corby, where IMS manufactures standard and bespoke components for injection moulding machinery. Its workshop can produce removable-tip nozzles, mixing nozzles, special nozzle tips and one-off machined components to suit individual machines and processing requirements.
The company’s wider engineering range includes filter nozzles, shut-off nozzles, internally heated nozzles and other custom-designed injection-end components. Internally heated designs can incorporate coiled heaters and internal thermocouples, while special nozzles and tips can be manufactured to customer requirements within the IMS workshop.
Engineering Director Ethan Di-Iorio said:
“Our UK workshop allows us to manufacture bespoke components quickly, including removable tip nozzles, mixing nozzles, special nozzle tips and one-off machined parts. We work closely with customers to provide practical, cost-effective solutions that meet their exact requirements.”
Alongside new component manufacture, IMS provides the supply, repair and refurbishment of screws and barrels. Worn components can be assessed to determine the most economical route between repair and replacement, helping moulders maximise component life while controlling maintenance costs.
The company’s technical offering is supported by a broad range of mould shop and machine components held for UK customers. Products include thermocouples, heater bands, nozzle and barrel heaters, mould clamps, waterline equipment, temperature controllers, gate cutters, nozzle tips and other injection moulding consumables.
Its product range also includes removable nozzle tips and nozzle bodies manufactured in the UK, with IMS able to accommodate different lengths, radii, orifices and machine-specific requirements.
Director Nick Verdino commented:
“We’ve built IMS around the knowledge and experience we’ve gained over decades in the industry. Alongside our engineering services, we supply a comprehensive range of mould shop consumables, including thermocouples, heater bands, nozzle and barrel heaters, mould clamps, waterline equipment and the industry-leading Keiba gate cutters. Our aim is to become a trusted single-source supplier for plastics processors throughout the UK.”
By combining experienced engineering personnel, UK machining capability, component refurbishment and stocked mould shop products, IMS aims to provide injection moulders with a responsive source of technical support from its Corby facility.
