As part of an ongoing expansion and investment into tooling services, The Pentagon Plastics Group have announced the purchase and delivery of two on-site CNC Machines, to the value of £150k.

The significant investment will bring more services in-house and allow the expert team to drive down tooling lead times for clients and further reduce sub-con services.

An excellent addition to the group, the Mikron VCE800 Pro – 3 axis and DMG DMU 50 Evo Linear – Full 5 axis machining centres use state of the art technology. As CNC machines – Computer Numerical Control machines – software is used to programme manufacturing processes to make them more efficient and controlled.

Paul Edwards, Managing Director states, ‘’This is a very exciting time for the Group as we continue to grow and expand our in-house services. In 2016 we acquired Phoenix Engineering, which is the tooling arm of our business, and have since invested in the relevant engineering skill sets to develop our services.

We always pride ourselves on the quality of work and the commitment of our staff to providing a valuable service to our clients, and with each new investment we look to increase our high standards. With that in mind, we are delighted with the new machinery and the benefits they will provide.’’

The acquisition of the machines has opened up new tooling opportunities with the group. The company is currently looking to grow it’s team of skilled toolmakers with vacancies for experienced CNC Machinists and Toolmakers.

The machines will be used to support the extensive on-site tooling services for the group. The machines join existing CNC machinery, conventional mills and lathes, spark eroders and surface grinders.
