The plastics industry is evolving towards a more sustainable future and the EcoPlastics Summit, hosted by Bausano, an international leading player in the design and production of customised extrusion lines for the transformation of plastic materials, aims to guide its transformation with a view to circular economy.

The Summit, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 13 June, from 09:30 to 16:00, at the Bausano headquarters in Rivarolo Canavese – Corso Indipendenza, 111. A one-of-its-kind event where academic research and industrial know-how engage in a conversation so that innovation becomes the foundation of a production cycle that can reduce the environmental impact of plastic materials.

From theory to practice: plastic extrusion becomes a green fact

The event aims not just to offer a valuable networking opportunity to bring together the operators of the sector but is also an opportunity to learn about the principles and practices of circular economy. At the company, Clemente Bausano, Vice President of Bausano, will officially open the proceedings with a brief welcome speech and will introduce the tech talk by Prof. Quatraro, full professor of Economic Policy at the University of Turin and guest of honour, alongside his team of researchers, with the title “Decoding Progress: Circular Economy, Regeneration and New Technologies”.

The talk aims to shine a light on the importance of transition towards a more virtuous model, in terms of products and processes, focusing on the crucial role of technology. In this context, Bausano will translate the principles of circular economy into concrete actions, offering guests the exclusive opportunity to explore the production department and assist to the live testing of a PP regranulation system, originating from post-industrial injection process waste. The scheduled Test specifically involves the single screw extruder 90/37 of the E-GO R series, the innovative range that makes it possible to recycle highly contaminated plastic materials.

“It has never been more necessary to rethink existing production models in favour of a more conscious approach to the environment and based on the 3 “R” paradigm: Reduce, Recycle, Reuse. This is a substantial breakthrough which, on the one hand, entails numerous opportunities for growth, and, on the other, constitutes a great challenge for the actors of the plastics industry sector”, declares Clemente Bausano, Vice President of Bausano.

He concluded by saying: “We are convinced that only by sharing knowledge, by the cooperation between Universities and Companies to promote responsible practices, and by the development of cutting-edge technologies can plastic become the star of a virtuous cycle of production and consumption. We thank everybody who is registering for the Summit and we join them in their commitment to a better future for our planet.”

Please note that places are limited and that it is recommended to register promptly to receive confirmation of participation.
