BEC Group Increase Capacity as Investment Continues

New Milton-based technical moulder BEC Group has invested heavily in its toolroom in recent months, increasing its machining capacity with new XYZ machinery. Elsewhere in the business, BEC has invested in Moldflow software from Autodesk.

BEC Group is a family-run, independent injection moulding manufacturer based on the South Coast of England, in New Milton, Hampshire. Servicing a wide range of sectors, the company has expanded year on year and now offers a bespoke plastic injection design, tooling and moulding service, all under one roof. BEC Group is fiercely proud of its UK manufacturing reputation, proving its quality to clients the world over with suites of both vertical and horizontal moulding machines offering a broad range of solutions.

After a successful 12 months at BEC Group, further investments into the toolroom have been made to replace older machines and increase its machining capacity. BEC has replaced an older vertical machining centre with XYZ’s 800 HD Vertical Machining Centre and a Manual Milling Machine with an XYZ 1500 Manual Turret Mill.

This investment into new XYZ machinery will allow for the smooth running of the toolroom and ensure optimal functioning with the latest software.

Moldflow software investment

Additional investments have been made throughout the company, during the last several months, including an update to its Moldlflow software from Autodesk. The update helps BEC provide customers with the most up-to-date information when quoting for their projects and assist its toolmakers when designing tools.

Continued investment

In further investment news, last year BEC Group secured a lease on a new facility based in the New Forest to keep up with demand and accommodate further filter encapsulation production.

It has also made significant investments in sustainability, switching to LED lighting throughout its factory and installing an electric vehicle charging point at its New Milton site. In January 2022, BEC Group upgraded its 3D printing and scanning suite with two new investments to make tooling and moulding development easier and quicker for its customers, installing an Einscan Pro HD 3D scanner and a Fusion F410 3D printer.
