3D printing leader Ricoh has bolstered its sales team with the recruitment of an industry rising star this month, as Chris Allport joins the company’s Additive Manufacturing Division as Sales Manager.
Chris Allport has made the move from 3T-am to join the Ricoh team at its Telford headquarters, taking the role of Regional Additive Manufacturing Sales Manager with responsibility for the UK.
Chris has spent four and a half years working in the additive manufacturing industry, building up a strong portfolio of experience across a host of sectors, with a specialism in consumer and automotive. He is now excited to be taking on a new challenge as Ricoh looks to further strengthen its position in the market.
Chris Allport said: “It’s an opportunity I’m really looking forward to grasping with both hands! I’ve thrown myself into building up my knowledge of the additive manufacturing industry and the benefits the 3D printing process can bring to manufacturing across all sectors.
“It’s my job now to educate the key decision-makers across industry and ensure Ricoh is the first port of call for all their additive manufacturing needs.”
Chris started training as an RAF fighter pilot before a rugby injury made a dramatic change to his career path.
He added: “It was the potential the industry had in terms of innovation and growth which first attracted me to additive manufacturing. Research shows that the industry is currently worth over £7 billion worldwide, which is a 700% increase over the last nine years, and that figure is only going to grow over time.
“There is a real buzz around Ricoh at the moment – with a really positive atmosphere and a steely determination amongst everyone to grow this area of the business and drive success. Ricoh is at the forefront of additive manufacturing technology and innovation, and the expertise levels within the business are hugely impressive.”
